Literature Text

All these people in the scene
telling you how they've been
filling blank with know-what-i-mean
you don't know how to consider me
when you speak riddled symphonies
for dancers to break through the stage
wanting for to be
wanting for to be
the talk is clicking
down a terrible spread
tearing a sparable tread
never really coming
to the point
golly lagging
my string of luck
is being played with
by a crazy cat.

If 'm not careful
'll end up on the trite rack
stopped like a drone questing rorters
wanting for to be
blessed
love less the challenged quarter
wanting for to be
tested
hate less with trickster mortars
wanting for to be
the politics undressed
ground to the paced.

Pillars of flame
burst from brushed intent
in the heartbeat clutch
changing the years as such
we go walking
the land carving our towers
in your clothes and hours
(filling baggy pants
with dust storm business
suits bust-taking names
of uniforms & pantyhose)
regularly
wanting for to be
when tired
of acting
like raisins supposed,
when lost in names
for dates
to cut back
mostly on errant roses
caging ghostly poses
wanting for to be.

Let us hold
out for a note
or a weaponised
breath of air,
even a fold
out chair.
We'll take
from broken stores
and company sores
those strong emotions
to where they can chore
evermore;
we'll make them
know
wanting fore to be,
screaming
from caps of ruin
to amphitheater shells
framed by trash-swamps
and beasts ridden fell
o'er gated huts

somehow we don't like
this thread-cut death
a numbered times over
digging another hone bed
growing sense of purpose
in pensive surplus.

It may not be true,
but that won't matter
not even to Mr. Neverbethesame ...
maybe we'll finally fit
the size of our names
and the last illusion
will be pain.
this needs work and if you can't see that, convince me or read it again (because, y'know, i have such power over you... and stuff); feedback desired

I don't think that's an uncommon problem with those that want to master their art form; it IS uncommon with those that think art is some sort of ticket to fame. There are those that want to write, and those that want to be known as writers, yeah?

And that was what I was thinking of. And David Bowie's "Hours" album. Tuesday's Child, I guess.
